First Whole Day Home

We all woke up relatively early yesterday morning… 4:30 or so. I don’t think we could sleep any longer seeing as we all went to bed between 7 and 8 the night before! We had no food in the house so we went to the store and bought some dough nuts for breakfast! YUM! Then pretty much all day we worked on laundry and putting all our things away. We still have to sort through our souvenirs and put our suitcases away, but everything is pretty much done.

I managed to pack some Nuggati in my suitcase so that’s what I had for lunch yesterday! I heard that MrsRockstar and Norwayyeff might be coming back up this weekend so we can start going through our millions of pictures and try to get them organized!

We have landed!

So I guess you have heard that we have made it back to the US! Norwaygirl beat me to it! I just wanted to say that even though my brain is currently mush from lack of sleep, I know I had a wonderful time! Our family will remember this trip forever! Thanks so much to everyone for the comments and interest. I need to send a great big THANK YOU to those who fed us, provided a roof over our heads and wash machines to clean our clothes! I hope we can return the favor someday soon! Love to all!

PS I hope I spelled this all correctly. I just want you to know that it makes sense to me right now. When I read it in the morning I may be wondering what I wrote!

Home At Last!

After flying on three different airplanes and being awake for over 24 hours, I am glad to be home! Our dog missed us so much she couldn’t stop jumping and yipping! We are all so glad to go back to our own house and try to get back to our normal schedule! Tomorrow we will start unpacking everything and hopefully I can upload some pictures for you…. sorry i haven’t been able to do much of that!

Norway is Rockin’

Really, Norway is just sweet because the mountains in Norway support a lot of animal populations sometimes.

We went under a fjord before. It was so cool because when we went under it was 8 km. And we were under water and when we popped back up, we went OVER the water. We were almost in Bergen after we went through the tunnel.

Right now we are packing up and soon we will leave to go back home. It’s going to take at least 10 hours (or more) to get there.

My favorite part was visiting friends and family in Norway. I also liked the aquarium in Bergen. I visited Olai and Tarjei in Raudeburg. I also visited the Steinagards in Vedvik. Kristian and Daniel and Trond and little Nikolas. It was very fun because they had Pokemon cards and books. They have a lot of Pokemon stuff.

Overall, it was great weather until today. It’s rainy rainy rainy with wind gusts in Bergen.

That’s all!

Bergen Highlights

We started out the day with riding the tram to the top of Fløyen. Once we reached the top, WOW what a view! And of course there was a souvenir shop  and we went in  and pretty much bought out the store! After taking some pictures we took the tram back down the mountain and went to the Bergen information center. We were looking for the cable car, Rulriken, only to find out its under construction! So we decided to grab some lunch at Godt Brød. Soon after that Trina, Kali, Jonathan, and I went to the Bergen Aquarium. That was very fun! I was really close to the penguins! We saw them feed the gators and the penguins! Then we got some ice cream. Papa and Grammy picked us up and we drove out to have kaffetied at Dag Magne and Christine’s flat. That was very nice! Now we are going through all our souvenirs trying to organize everything. So if I can tomorrow I will try to write about our last day in Bergen.

Walking Around In Bergen

Today we had breakfast at the Hostell and then started to wander around the streets of Bergen. We looked at the fish in the fish market and then started shopping the street vendors. Bought a whole bunch of things and we were just getting started! We meandered in and out of the Bryggen and bought a couple more things. We found out that the sea is rising and that the Bryggen is sinking! We found a small cafe where we had lunch and a break from walking. Walked up to a museum and tried to get through it all before we had to leave for Kjell’s house, but we didn’t quite make it all the way through.  Kjell had to meet us at the bus station because we couldn’t figure out how to get to his house! We had some cream cake and strawberries for kaffetied and then talked for awhile. Right now we are trying to rearrange our hotel room so we can make some sandwiches for dinner!

Sightseeing in Karmøy

Went to Skudeneshavn to see the old town. Got some yummy waffles from this shop. Trina put a dot on Green Bay on the World Map in the shop to show that’s where we are from. Drove to Åkrasanden, it was very beautiful! We didn’t swim much though, it was too cold. Then we had lunch and went to the Norvegen Historiesenter. Saw the Viking Museum and dressed up like Vikings! Saw the Olavskirken, old stone church, that was very beautiful as well. Then we drove back to Torill’s house to pack up our things and say goodbye. Took some pictures before we left. Made our way to Bergen through an underwater tunnel and had to take a ferry. Finally we arrived at our hotel and checked in. We brought all our suitcases up and got everything settled. Now we are all sitting in Grammy and Papa’s little room trying to figure out what to do tomorrow. Mom is warming up some caramel for dough nuts. YUM!

A Day In Haugesund

We started off our day with a drive up the mountain to see a view of the North Sea and the different islands west of Haugesund. Then we went to the memorial of Harald Hårfagre. We tried some type of fruit called a nupa, it was very delicious… I was surprised I liked it. Then we went for lunch at Biografen Cafe. We had chicken salad sandwiches. They were very delicious! I have tried so many new things here, so far I have liked them all! We went to see the Statue of Liberty at Visnes and also the Mining Museum. Then we wandered around shopping in different areas. I found this cool panda shirt! For supper we had tacos for dinner and then for dessert Torill had brought dough nuts from work and dipped them in caramel. They were delicious! Stayed up late talking about school, music, and funny videos on the internet!
